Sowers of Hope is a ministry of New International that equips churches with Theological and Technical resources for Christian Farmers to be catalysts of Nutritional, Economic, Environmental, and Spiritual growth in their communities. The Theological and Technical resources include training curricula and a Farmer Handbook. 


Job Description:

This position is for a Curriculum Development Specialist. The curriculum to be developed will build from existing program materials with special attention to improving integration of theological and agricultural principles, targeting specific outcomes, increasing class dialogue and participation, and generally improving the quality of content according to existing evaluations. 



The selected consultant will: 

  • Participate in the assessment of current program content 
  • Write new content according to existing course outline and curriculum template (initially 15-20 Curricula for Lead Farmer Trainings) 
  • Participate in curriculum testing/evaluation 
  • Coordinate with layout and illustration specialists 
  • Plan procedures for on-going curriculum evaluation 
  • Plan a strategy for producing additional support curricula

  • Biblical Holism
  • Theology of Work/Dignity
  • Conservation Agriculture
  • Nutrition
  • Kitchen/Vegetable Gardens
  • Agroforestry
  • Agribusiness
  • Livestock care


Salary: Negotiable depending on background and experience


Timing: Options for Full or Part-time 


Location: In Kigali, Rwanda with option for remote work


Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
  • Experience teaching/facilitating trainings
  • Experience working with farmers in developing countries
  • Experience writing curricula/training materials
  • Familiarity with the integration of theology and agriculture/biblical holism/eco-theology/agrarian reading of Scripture 
  • Certificate in, (or at least exposure to) Dialogue Education
  • English writing skills and experience working across languages
